Kingfish Aquariums began servicing custom aquariums in Austin, Texas in 2000. Owner Brian Carlile studied marine and freshwater biology at the University of Texas at Austin. He went on to study biological oceanography, fish biology, and ornamental aquaculture at the UT Marine Science Institute in Port Aransas, Texas.

Armed with an extensive scientific background, years of retail experience, and a unique eye for design and aquascaping, Brian founded Kingfish Aquariums.
